Fond du Lac, WI— Representative Jerry O’Connor (R-Fond du Lac) released the following statement regarding his reelection plans for 2026:
“After representing the people of the 60th District in the State Assembly for the past two terms, I have made the decision not to seek reelection in 2026. My district comprises the City of Fond du Lac, the Village of North Fond du Lac, and the Townships of Fond du Lac, Empire, and Friendship.
I want to express my gratitude to the voters who made this journey possible. I am deeply grateful for the faith and trust you placed in me.
Serving as your Assembly Representative has been more rewarding than I could have imagined. While I look forward to spending more time with my family and pursuing personal interests, I remain committed to completing my term through the end of the year and focusing on the work I was elected to do.
I am incredibly pleased with what we have achieved together—from delivering major tax cuts and standing up for traditional family values to making government work better for all of us, passing legislation that benefits local government, and working to eliminate sex trafficking in Wisconsin.
I also want to express my deep appreciation to the members of the Legislature whom I have come to know as we worked together to pass important legislation for all Wisconsinites. At the top of that list are my aides, Henry Dern and Reanna Rasmussen. Most of all, I want to thank my wife, Luanne, who has been my most important supporter every step of the way.”
