Random Lake, WI — Lifelong Kewaskum-area resident Bradley Petersen announced today that he is running for the Wisconsin State Assembly in the 59th Assembly District. He is running to be a strong conservative voice who will defend faith, family, freedom, and the values that make this district the heart of Wisconsin.

Petersen launched his campaign with the endorsement of current State Representative Rob Brooks, who is retiring and endorsing Petersen to carry forward conservative leadership in Madison.

“I am honored to have Rep. Brooks’ support,” Petersen said. “He has fought hard for our district, and I am ready to continue that fight. I will stand up for the people, our families, and our freedoms.”

“The 59th Assembly District represents the best of Wisconsin,” Petersen said. “We believe in hard work, personal responsibility, and protecting the freedoms that make our communities strong. I am running to make sure Madison respects our values and restrains itself to the core responsibilities of governing: public safety, high-quality infrastructure, cutting taxes, and respecting the lives of ALL citizens.”

Born and raised in Kewaskum by a single mother, Petersen learned early the value of hard work and responsibility. He grew up on his family’s dairy farm putting in early mornings and long days.

“In our communities, people don’t want handouts,” Petersen said. “They want the freedom to work hard, take care of their families, and live according to their values without government interference.”

Petersen said overregulation and government overreach have made life harder for families, farmers, and small business owners.

“Decisions are being made by people who don’t understand our communities,” he said. “It’s time to push back against bureaucracy, cut unnecessary regulations, and empower the people who keep this state running. We must also ensure new developments, like data centers, don’t burden taxpayers and that Wisconsin consumers are protected from rising costs. Local residents should also have a meaningful voice in wind and solar projects that affect their communities.”

A 2015 graduate of Kewaskum High School, Petersen serves on the Kewaskum School District Board. As policy chairman, he has defended parental rights, strengthened academic standards, and kept political agendas out of classrooms.

“Parents should decide what’s best for their children,” Petersen said. “Not bureaucrats, not politicians, and not activists pushing an agenda.”

Petersen also serves as chair of the Town of Scott Planning Commission, where he has fought to keep decision-making local and protect the character of the community.

“Local people know best how to run their communities,” he said. “I will fight to keep Madison out of our lives and give power back to the people.”

Faith is central to Petersen’s leadership. As an elder and council member at Immanuel Lutheran Church, he said strong churches and families are the foundation of a strong society.

Petersen is pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and a strong supporter of law enforcement. He supports limited government, secure elections, and protecting the constitutional rights of every citizen.

“This campaign is about standing up for our values, defending rural life, supporting our farmers and small businesses, and ensuring our children inherit a state full of freedom and opportunity,” Petersen said.

Petersen said he is ready to get to work for the families and communities of Wisconsin’s 59th Assembly District.
