FOND DU LAC, WI – On Friday, a group of parents filed a federal lawsuit against the New Richmond, WI School District for their bathroom policy that violates the rights of girls in the school. New Richmond School District policies have allowed boys to use girls’ bathrooms in accordance with their gender identity. The story has made national news and has led to the federal government opening an investigation into the district’s practices.
Following the news of the lawsuit, Eric Toney is calling on Attorney General Josh Kaul to intervene on behalf of the girls and support their case to protect their bathrooms from boys.
“Josh Kaul has filed dozens of lawsuits against conservative policies and Republican administrations, while pushing a radical woke agenda that is leaving Wisconsinites behind. Kaul already failed to get off the sidelines to protect girls’ sports in a federal case and now he’s doing it again,” Eric Toney said in a statement. “Josh Kaul needs to wake up, get off the sidelines, and fight to protect girls’ bathrooms in New Richmond. This is common sense and Kaul’s silence is another example of his failed leadership in protecting Wisconsinites. As Wisconsin’s next Attorney General, I’ll always fight to protect women and girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports.”
Toney has served as a prosecutor in Fond du Lac for over 13 years and has consistently pledged that his day-one priorities include returning the Wisconsin Department of Justice to its core principles of protecting Wisconsinites, supporting victims, and keeping our communities safe.
