Senator Jesse James (R-Thorp) is announcing that he will retire at the end of his term, and not seek reelection.

“This journey of being a past 68th Assembly state representative and current state senator has been amazing. I had the opportunity of a lifetime. However, this role came at a price, a price of being away from my family. For this reason, and for other personal reasons I have decided to retire from the Wisconsin State Senate. It has been an honor and a privilege to represent the people of the 23rd Senate District. I need to thank my wife, Vicki and my family. Being an elected official demands time and sacrifice, and they have supported me through it all. Now it is my time to support them. I want to thank all of you who have supported, prayed, and loved me through my legislative career.

We have been blessed to bring good things to northwestern/central Wisconsin. Things like: Roger’s Behavioral Health, LE Phillips Libertas Center re-opening, supporting our youth in Boys and Girls Clubs, Jobs for America’s Graduates, backing the badge, public safety initiatives supporting our Fire, EMS, Correction Officers, and so much more! Thank you for the opportunity to serve, and for the trust you placed in me and my wonderful staff. May God bless our future and the state of Wisconsin.”
