De Pere, Wis. — State Representative Ben Franklin today announced his campaign for re-election to the Wisconsin State Assembly, highlighting a legislative session defined by bipartisan results, economic growth, and a strong commitment to families, veterans, and public safety.

“Over the past session, we’ve proven that we can work together, deliver real results, and focus on Wisconsin’s future,” Franklin said. “I’m running for re-election to keep that momentum going and continue fighting for Northeast Wisconsin.”

During the most recent legislative session, Franklin helped pass multiple bipartisan bills signed into law by the governor, including four measures supporting veterans and service members. These efforts focused on addressing veteran homelessness, strengthening the Veterans Housing and Recovery Program (VHRP), and ensuring fairness for National Guard and Reserve members.

Franklin also played a leading role in advancing legislation to protect children, including an audiovisual protections law designed to better safeguard minors. As a member of the Speaker’s Task Force on Protecting Kids, he worked with stakeholders statewide to advance policies supporting children and families. He has also remained actively engaged in expanding access to mental health resources across Wisconsin.

A key achievement this session was the passage of nuclear fusion legislation, positioning Wisconsin as a leader in emerging energy technologies and helping attract high-paying jobs and long-term investment to the state.

“This is about putting Wisconsin on the map globally and building an economy that creates opportunity for the next generation,” Franklin said.

Franklin has also worked closely with stakeholders to address challenges within the Department of Corrections, including ongoing efforts to find a long-term solution for the Green Bay Correctional Institution. He noted significant barriers have been overcome, and meaningful progress has brought parties closer to a sustainable path forward.

In the state budget, Franklin secured key investments for Northeast Wisconsin, including funding for the South Bridge Connector Project to improve transportation efficiency and strengthen regional supply chains, as well as funding for port revitalization and the relocation of coal piles to unlock waterfront redevelopment opportunities. These investments are expected to generate significant economic growth while delivering substantial savings for Brown County taxpayers.

“I’ve always believed public service is about results—not rhetoric,” Franklin added. “We’ve made real progress, but there’s more work ahead. I’m ready to keep delivering for the 88th District.”
