RACINE, Wis. – Today, Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) announced that she will be seeking re-election for the 66th Assembly District. Neubauer has represented the 66th Assembly District since 2018 and served as the Democratic Leader since 2021. She released the following statement:

“I am excited to announce that I am running for re-election to represent the 66th Assembly District. I ran for office eight years ago because I worried about the wellbeing of our community and feared for our democracy. I saw how legislative Republicans’ efforts to consolidate power through gerrymandered legislative maps meant unequal representation in the state capitol and the needs of our community going unmet. But now, after years of hard work, we finally have an opportunity to win a Democratic trifecta and deliver for communities like ours.

“I promised to fight for Racine County, and I believe I have kept that promise. This session, I fought to lower costs for working families, fund our public schools, and create a state where everyone can thrive. I’m proud of the successes we had, including increasing access to healthcare for new moms and coverage for breast cancer screenings, as well as releasing funds to clean up our drinking water. There is much more to be done, but I am hopeful that we are turning a corner in Wisconsin.

“I am grateful to our community for allowing me to represent you in Madison. I hope you feel that I have done right by you, and I hope you will allow me to continue serving our community by re-electing me to the Wisconsin State Assembly.”
