MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Supervisor Deanna Alexander has been appointed Chair of the Committee on Personnel, marking her first appointment as a standing committee chair.

Supervisor Alexander brings over a decade of public service experience at the county, state, and local levels to the role.  She has previously served as vice chair of several committees and is one of the only County Supervisors to have served as a County employee prior to becoming elected.

“This is a meaningful opportunity to deepen my service to the people of Milwaukee County,” said Supervisor Alexander. “I am grateful to the Chairwoman for the confidence and opportunity, and I look forward to working collaboratively to support the important personnel work ahead.”

The Committee handles personnel matters, including conditions of employment for county employees, compensation, classification and pay of positions, administration of employee benefits, and recommendations on policies affecting the Department of Human Resources and its divisions of Employee Benefits and Labor Relations.

“My experience in state government and local municipalities, alongside my county service, has prepared me well for this role.  I am committed to thoughtful leadership, sound governance, sensibility, and integrity,” Supervisor Alexander added.

The Committee will hold public meetings at the Milwaukee County Courthouse that are accessible online through the County Legislative Information Center (CLIC) on Wednesdays at 9:30 am, the week immediately prior to regular meetings of the County Board of Supervisors.
