MADISON, Wis. — Yesterday, Tom Tiffany voted for the House Farm Bill that fails to address Trump’s tariffs that are bankrupting farmers and locks in a $187 billion cut to SNAP, all while working Wisconsinites struggle with skyrocketing costs. Tiffany also voted against allowing SNAP recipients to purchase hot rotisserie chicken, a petty and unnecessarily cruel slap in the face to working people relying on additional assistance to feed their families.

“With Tom Tiffany’s votes yesterday in favor of the tariffs hurting Wisconsin farmers and against hot meals for working families, Tiffany proved yet again that he’ll always put loyalty to Trump and Washington Republicans ahead of the needs of Wisconsinites — no matter the literal cost,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “If Tiffany wants to dismiss affordability as a ‘buzzword’ while voting to make life more expensive, he’ll be the one paying the price in November.”Thanks to Tom Tiffany’s vote for the OBBB, which he called a “game changer” for America, already over 15,000 fewer Wisconsinites are receiving SNAP benefits compared to last July. The bill was the largest cut to SNAP in the program’s history. Over 700,000 Wisconsinites receive SNAP benefits—more than 60% are households with children and 36% are households with at least one member that is elderly or disabled.
