May Day
May Day was a great day to kick off the weekend celebrating workers and the history of the labor movement in America. I grew up in a union household and saw how important having a say in the workplace was for growing good-paying, family sustaining jobs. As governor, I’ll always support unions, do everything I can to lift up union households, and work every day to create more good-paying jobs in every corner of the state.

8th Congressional District and 5th Congressional District Conventions
Every Wisconsin family should have access to the basics required to build a stable life here. If making sure families can afford to have a roof over their head, see a doctor, and find childcare is “too much” — then Wisconsin families have been getting too little for too long. I know that together, we can build an affordable Wisconsin where all families can thrive.
Thanks to all the hard-working Democrats in the 8th and 5th Congressional Districts who came out this weekend to keep pushing toward a Wisconsin that is better for all of us.

Recognizing the Bay View Massacre
This weekend marked the commemoration of the 140th anniversary of the Bay View Massacre, when seven workers lost their lives in the fight for an eight-hour-workday. Moments like this remind us of the sacrifices made by Wisconsin’s labor movement and call us to recommit to the work still ahead.

To close things out, I had a beautiful evening in Jefferson County. Thank you to the Jefferson County Democrats for being such excellent hosts at your Spring Forward Dinner. It is a pleasure and privilege to work with you all for a Wisconsin that is better for all of us.
