The 57th Annual Municipal Clerks Week is May 3 – 9, 2026. Municipal Clerks Week was initiated in 1969 by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and endorsed by all its members throughout the United States, Canada, and 15 other countries. It is a time of celebration and reflection on the importance of the Clerk’s office.
Municipal clerks play a key role in administering our elections and upholding voting rights. The WI Disability Vote Coalition (WDVC) thanks Wisconsin clerks for their hard work in welcoming every voter equally and being sensitive to the dignity and rights of voters with disabilities. We applaud their efforts to make elections accessible to those with disabilities by ensuring the right to assistance with any aspect of voting, offering voters the use of accessible voting machines, positioning machines for privacy and accessibility, setting up curbside voting, and supporting absentee voting, including the right of disabled voters to ballot return assistance.
The Disability Vote Coalition is pleased to recognize the important work of Wisconsin municipal clerks. We look forward to working with Wisconsin clerks to advance the accessibility of Wisconsin elections and to ensure the rights of voters with disabilities.
If your Municipal Clerk has made voting easier for you, we encourage you to reach out and say thank you. You can look up your Municipal Clerk’s name and contact information here.
