MILWAUKEE – Congresswoman Gwen Moore announced her endorsement of Judge Pedro Colón to be Wisconsin’s next Supreme Court Justice.

“Judge Pedro Colón knows how the law actually works in people’s lives, and he has the record to prove it. What has always set him apart is his deep sense of fairness and his genuine commitment to the people he serves,” said Congresswoman Moore. “We have both dedicated our careers to fighting for Wisconsin families, and Pedro has never wavered in that mission. Our state deserves a Supreme Court Justice who understands that the law must work for everyone, and Judge Pedro Colón knows exactly that. I am proud to endorse him to be our next Justice on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

Congresswoman Moore represents Wisconsin’s 4th Congressional District and is our state’s longest-serving member in the House of Representatives. She made history in 2004 as the first Black person elected to Congress from Wisconsin, having previously served in both the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate. A senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, she has spent two decades in Washington as a tireless advocate for working families, women’s rights, and economic justice.

“Congresswoman Moore has spent decades making sure Wisconsin families have a real voice in Washington. That’s the same standard I intend to bring to the Supreme Court. I’m running to make sure our state’s highest court works for everyone, and having Congresswoman Moore’s support in this race means the world to me,” said Judge Pedro Colón.

Judge Pedro Colón is a graduate of Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He was the first Latino ever elected to the Wisconsin Legislature, representing Milwaukee in the State Assembly from 1999 to 2010. He was appointed by Governor Jim Doyle to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in 2010 and served for 13 years, winning election three times. In 2023, he was appointed to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals by Governor Tony Evers, becoming the first Latino to serve on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Colón and his wife Betty live on Milwaukee’s south side and have two daughters.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court general election will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2027, with a primary on February 16, 2027 if necessary. For more about Judge Pedro Colón and his campaign, visit www.pedrocolon.com. A headshot of Judge Colón can be downloaded here.
