Madison, WI — State Representative David Steffen (R-Howard) issued the following statement in response to today’s announcement of a 60-year lease agreement between Brown County and C. Reiss Terminals, LLC:
“The agreement reached between Brown County and C. Reiss is testament to this critical development opportunity nearing the finish line. This 15-year effort to finally relocate the coal storage to a more suitable location will unlock nearly a quarter mile of riverfront for redevelopment and recreation. I am grateful for the outstanding local leadership that has kept this important project moving forward,” said Rep. Steffen.
