Madison, WI—Former State Representative, carpenter and governor candidate Brett Hulsey today called on all other Democratic governor candidates to support a ceasefire on Governor Tony Evers’ budget deal and cease personal attacks on him and the best deal he could get with the GOP legislative leadership to help struggling families.
“We all want peace in the Mideast, and we should work for peace in the Midwest too. Governor Evers is our WI Democratic Party quarterback and got the best deal he could to help Wisconsin struggling families,” said Hulsey, who has more than 48 years of public service experience. “I will not make my opponents’ youth and inexperience an issue in this campaign, but several are showing their lack of wisdom by attacking our Governor Evers.”
“The perfect should not be the enemy of the good. Governor Evers’ deal is a good step forward to help our families and schools struggling with the high costs of the Trump/Tiffany Iran War, high gas, food, and utility bills. It returns some millions of the school money former Rep. Tiffany/Trump and Gov. Walker took from our school children, workers, healthcare, retirement, UW and Technical Colleges in the 2011 Unfair Despair Act 10.”
“Governor Evers did his best to get some of the $2.43 billion that Trump/Tiffany and Gov. Walker took from our school children, property taxpayers, students and workers,” said Brett, the only candidate to run for governor against Walker in 2014 to get the Act 10 money back.
The money is needed to help families pay for high gas and food prices from the Tiffany/Trump war in Iran and help our struggling schools
