Madison, WI – Rep. Treig E. Pronschinske released the following statement succeeding the Assembly passage of Special Session Assembly Bill 1:

“Tonight, my Assembly colleagues and I worked diligently alongside Governor Evers to secure a bipartisan deal to send the state surplus back to you: the constituent.

“Our sincere hope was that the Senate would find it equally important to raise special education funding, public school funding, and give much needed tax relief to a majority of Wisconsinites. Unfortunately, pride, arrogance, and greed did not allow the Senate to pass this bill tonight.

“This bill would have had many positives impacts for a great majority of Wisconsin residents. Although Democrat Governor Evers took time to work with Republican leadership, most every other Democrat legislator could not find their way to a yes because they don’t want money back in your pockets and in our schools.”
