Madison – On Wednesday night, the Senate voted down legislation to spend the projected budget surplus, legislation which could put our state in a nearly $3 billion deficit. Following the vote, Senator Bob Wirch (D-Pleasant Prairie) released the following statement:

“Republicans are so out of touch with Wisconsin families that they crafted a proposal that had bipartisan opposition, including from their own Republican candidate for governor. Democrats have a proposal that would ensure our schools are funded, and are ready to get to work with our colleagues across the aisle to get this legislation to the Governor’s desk and make it law.”
