There will be nine hosts of hospitality suites at the GOP state convention this weekend.
Gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany will have a suite with a supper club theme tonight. His campaign said it will include pull tabs, cheese curds and prime rib sliders, along with the chance to win some of his mother’s homemade pickles.
The Wisconsin Young Republicans are hosting a happy hour with Tiffany, state Sen. Julian Bradley, R-New Berlin, and Washington County Exec Josh Schoemann as guests.
The 2nd District GOP also has a suite tonight, as do lieutenant governor candidates Will Martin and David Varnam. Martin, a Racine businessman, will be serving artichoke florentine stuffed mushrooms, BBQ roasted meatballs, chicken and cheese quesadilla, and light refreshments, including beer. Varnam, the former Lancaster mayor, has a “Faith, Family and Wisconsin” theme for his suite with yard games, assorted appetizers and desserts.

Tomorrow morning, AG candidate Eric Toney is serving coffee and pastries.
Then tomorrow night, the state’s congressional delegation will have a hospitality suite, as will two contenders for the GOP nomination in the 7th CD.
Kevin Hermening, a financial adviser and former Marathon County GOP chair, will serve Jack Link’s jerky, Mullins cheese and cranberries from Wisconsin Rapids. Proceeds from the suite will benefit the state American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars department, and the campaign has invited veterans from area Legion and VFW posts.
Michael Alfonso’s campaign said the theme of his suite will be America’s 250th birthday.
