May 26, 2026, Wisconsin β€” Today, Wisconsin Electoral Socialists (β€œWES”) announced its endorsement of Amy Donahue for Congressional District 4, which includes most of Milwaukee County. Amy Donahue will give voters in this district a democratic socialist option who supports healthcare for all, fair taxation of billionaires and corporations, and who will fight to end genocide and apartheid in Palestine. Wisconsin’s 2026 primary election is set for Tuesday, August 11th.

Wisconsin Electoral Socialists (WES) is a membership organization founded in February of 2024, dedicated to supporting and campaigning for socialist and aligned candidates in Wisconsin. Donahue submitted detailed questionnaires to WES and participated in interviews open to WES members, prior to endorsement.

WES is committed to publicly and materially supporting the campaigns of its endorsed candidates. WES members will be matching funds donated through an ActBlue fundraiser at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/wesmatch as well as a series of benefit concerts this summer. The organization is currently considering endorsements in other races at every level. Candidates interested in WES’s endorsement are welcome to contact the organization at wesocialists@gmail.com

WES released the following statement:

β€œWES is proud to endorse Amy Donahue for Wisconsin’s 4th Congressional in the upcoming Democratic primary. Amy is a queer, non-binary parent, a genetic counsellor, medical librarian, and a community organizer. They have lived in the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee since 2011 and have two children who attend La Escuela Fratney just down the street. As a healthcare worker, Amy has always fought to put service, care, and compassion above profit in this sector which has too often turned its back on those values. Amy is also a public school advocate and member of the La Escuela Fratney School Engagement Council. They were a volunteer and board member at the Riverwest Coop prior to its close last year.

Amy is also a founding member of the Milwaukee Chapter of Healthcare Workers for Palestine. Since October of 2023, solidarity with Palestinian people has been at the forefront of their organizing. In Congress, they will fight to stop sending Milwaukee’s resources to the bombing of hospitals, the shooting of children, and Israel’s expanding wars of aggression. That money is needed here, helping our communities, instead of destroying lives and families abroad.”
