Wauwatosa, WI — Mike Morgan announced that he is running as a Republican for the open 13th Assembly District in Brookfield, Elm Grove and Wauwatosa. 

“Residents of the 13th District and Wisconsin need affordability, accountability and accessibility from their state government,” Morgan said. “I will use my decades of expertise and experience in the community, government and private sector to hit the ground running with balanced, efficient and independent solutions.”

Mike and his wife Janice have raised a family and worked in Wauwatosa over the last 25 years while volunteering for numerous community activities and helping care for their parents.

During his last six years on the Wauwatosa Common Council, Mike served as Transportation Affairs Committee and Aldermanic Selection Committee chair. He served on the Financial and Community Affairs committees, all appointed by Mayor Dennis McBride. 

As an active Wauwatosa Council member, Mike proposed and passed a wheel tax accountability amendment, Wauwatosa TIF M/W/DBE inclusion program, budget amendments to help reduce reckless driving, and Resident Special Assessment process updates.

For the community, Mike founded the Junior Trojan Youth Baseball program in 2007, served for Tosa West Booster Club, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Steve Cullen Run Committee, youth sports coach, Harley-Davidson Diversity and Wellness councils, and the Milwaukee Forum.

Mike’s career includes marketing for Kapco Metal Stamping, Sigma Group engineering, Harley-Davidson, SE Wisconsin Professional Baseball Park District, and Wauwatosa Village BID. He worked as a journalist, Wisconsin State Senate and Milwaukee Common Council staff, substitute teacher in Wauwatosa and MPS, Wauwatosa School District sporting events, and youth baseball umpire, as well as hourly industrial work for FedEx, Fastenal and UPS.
