Tiffany Cast Deciding Vote To Continue Illegal War In Iran And Trump’s Tariffs, Causing Price Of Diesel To Double, 700% Surge In Farm Bankruptcies, Dairy Profits Cut In Half

Ahead of Trump’s visit to Chippewa County, Mandela Barnes sat down with Chippewa County farmers at Riverview Dairy Farm in Boyd to hear about the pain being caused for farmers because of Trump and Tom Tiffany’s massive price hikes.

Speaking with local media, Mandela Barnes called out Trump’s stop as an out-of-touch visit by an out-of-touch president:

“Rural Wisconsin, rural America has been good to President Donald Trump, but Donald Trump has not been good for rural America, he’s not been good to rural Wisconsin,” Barnes said. “As we continue to deal with the impacts of these tariffs, as we continue to deal with impacts like him deciding to invade other countries at will or launch illegal wars, the disrespect is hard to count.”

Tom Tiffany has voted with Donald Trump 100% of the time, including casting the deciding votes on extending Trump’s tariffs and flip-flopping to vote to continue the illegal war in Iran—policies that are killing farms across Wisconsin:

  • Matthew Holub hosted the event on his farm, 10 miles north of Boyd. He has 200 cows and grows corn and hay on 600 acres. He stressed that a good Dow market is not reflecting what farmers are seeing. Barnes asked him about how rising fuel and fertilizer costs are impacting his farm.
  • “I don’t think we’ve seen the full impact yet,” Holub responded. The volatility of markets for milk and corn isn’t helping, Holub said.
  • “It’s hard to plan a business when you see those giant swings,” he said. “There is so much inconsistency.”
  • Les Danielson, a Cadott farmer, told Barnes that the tariffs have hurt farms, saying they need a market for their soybeans and corn.
