Madison, WI — Wisconsin Democrats kick off their state convention this weekend in Madison with the tagline “Save the American Dream,” but their idea of the American Dream is not the one most Wisconsinites have. The party’s draft platform resolutions – which include gutting Wisconsin’s private school voucher program, imposing regulations on new construction developments, and abolishing ICE – proves their vision for Wisconsin is one that’s less safe, less prosperous, and has fewer opportunities for our kids.
Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) is continuing our fight to preserve the American Dream that helped make Wisconsin great by supporting Tom Tiffany’s bid for governor.
AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak released the following statement:
“It’s rich to see Democrats preach about saving the American Dream when they refuse to end the 400-year property tax hike, advocate for eliminating school choice, and want to keep more of your hard-earned dollars. This convention will be a competition to see who can turn Wisconsin into the next Virginia the quickest. The Democrats’ draft resolutions only reinforce that.
“Tom Tiffany offers a commonsense agenda that will lower energy rates, end the 400-year property tax, and restore sanity to the East Wing in Madison. That’s why we’ve endorsed him for governor, and why we are mobilizing our grassroots volunteers to help him win in November.
“Wisconsin has a choice. Either we embrace the ‘American Dream’ as told by Democrats of higher taxes and fewer opportunities, or we choose the American Dream that made our state the greatest place in the Midwest to live and work.”
