RAYMOND, Wis. — U.S. Representative Pat Ryan (NY-18) today endorsed Mitchell Berman for Wisconsin’s First Congressional District. Ryan, a combat veteran who represents a swing district in New York’s Hudson Valley, was the top-performing frontline candidate in the country in 2024, winning re-election by over 14 points.
Congressman Ryan issued the following statement:
“Mitchell Berman is exactly the kind of candidate we need more of in Congress. He spent a decade at the VA caring for our veterans – not as a politician, but as a nurse, showing up every day for the people who served this country. That same commitment to his community is what will make him a great representative for Wisconsin’s First District. I’m proud to endorse Mitchell Berman.”
Representative Ryan announced his endorsement of Berman as part of a federal slate of endorsements from his Patriot PAC, with every endorsed candidate coming from a background of public service, including the military, law enforcement, nurses, public school teachers, and first responders. In 2025, 76 percent of Ryan’s endorsed “Patriots” won their elections, helping cement the Democratic commitment to public service and Patriotism.
Berman, an ER nurse from Raymond, is the Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s First Congressional District. Berman worked at the VA for over a decade and served veterans, active duty service members, and their families at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Healthcare Center. He has centered his campaign on kitchen table issues, working-class representation, and ending corruption in Washington.
