Milwaukee, WI — June 22, 2026 — Enough Is Enough ~ A Legacy for Erin today released its latest Court Watch report examining sentencing outcomes in Milwaukee County felony fleeing and reckless driving cases.

Since launching Court Watch in June 2024, the organization has monitored more than 1,800 reckless driving-related criminal cases. The latest report analyzes 266 fully adjudicated cases from November 1, 2025 through April 30, 2026, comparing current outcomes to prior reporting periods.

The findings show encouraging signs that efforts to address reckless driving are making an impact:

  • Open felony fleeing case inventory has fallen below 2025 peak levels.
  • New fleeing case filings are at their lowest levels since tracking began.
  • Judicial sentences continue to become more aligned with District Attorney recommendations.
  • Average sentence lengths increased during the current reporting period.

“These findings show that progress is possible when reckless driving is treated with the seriousness it deserves,” said Jeanne Lupo, President, Enough Is Enough ~ A Legacy for Erin. “It is encouraging to see movement in the right direction, but the work is far from over. Milwaukee families deserve safe streets, meaningful accountability, and a justice system that sends a clear message: fleeing and reckless endangerment are not negotiable.”

The report emphasizes that public safety must remain the guiding priority in sentencing decisions, particularly for Milwaukee residents and vulnerable communities disproportionately harmed by reckless driving. Enough Is Enough urges continued attention to accountability through sentencing consistency, deterrence, and timely resolution of cases.
