Green Bay, WI — State Representative Amaad Rivera-Wagner (D-Green Bay) has been awarded a 2025–2026 Champion of Commerce Award by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), recognizing his record of advancing policies that strengthen Wisconsin’s economy, expand opportunity, and support employers and workers alike.
The Champion of Commerce Award is presented to lawmakers who achieve an 80% or higher score on MMAC’s biennial Legislative Scorecard. The scorecard evaluates key votes tied to the organization’s public policy priorities, including economic competitiveness, workforce development, and quality of life initiatives. Two of the key benchmark votes for the 2025-2026 session were on bills that Rivera-Wagner co-authored and were signed into law – AB454/2025 WI Act 239, which established the state’s Workforce Home Loan Program; and AB759/2025 WI Act 240, which allows DACA recipients to obtain state-issued professional licenses if they meet all requirements.
Founded in 1861, MMAC serves as the chamber of commerce for the metro Milwaukee region and works to advance policies that encourage investment, job creation, and long-term economic growth. Every two years, the organization publishes its “Blueprint for Economic Prosperity,” outlining its legislative priorities, which form the basis for the scorecard evaluation.
“I’m honored to receive this recognition from MMAC. I’ve always believed economic development doesn’t have to come at the expense of equity. The strongest economy is one where hard work pays off no matter where you start or how you show up. That’s how we create communities where businesses want to invest, families can put down roots, and everyone has a fair shot at success,” said Rivera-Wagner.
Rep. Rivera-Wagner joins a select group of legislators recognized for advancing policies that strengthen Wisconsin’s economy while expanding opportunity for workers, families, and businesses. He represents Wisconsin’s 90th Assembly District, which includes much of the City of Green Bay,
