West Bend, Wis — Washington County is free to proceed with the sale of the former UW-M at Washington County Property following a Friday ruling from a judge denying an injunction blocking the sale.
Judge Cain ruled in favor of Washington County on two grounds. As a result of the ruling, Washington County may proceed with closing the sale of the former UW-M at Washington County property to Ozaukee Christian School/FaithRidge. The County filed a motion to dismiss the case, which will be heard by Judge Cain on Aug. 20.
“From the beginning, this lawsuit lacked any basis in the law, and we appreciate Judge Cain’s ruling that ensures this sale can proceed rather than the County continuing to pay to maintain the property,” said County Executive Josh Schoemann and County Board Chairperson Jeffrey Schleif in a joint statement. “We are pleased that this school can now move forward and benefit the children of Washington County.”
