Republican candidate Jay Schroeder challenges the Democratic and Green Party candidates for Wisconsin Secretary of State to participate in a series of public debates across Wisconsin, saying voters deserve leaders who are willing to publicly defend their ideas and answer tough questions.
No other candidate for this office has brought up the fact that the office budget went up 157% from 2 to 6 employees, so for me it was time to move on.
“Leadership begins with accountability,” Schroeder said. “If you’re asking the people of Wisconsin for their vote, you should be willing to answer difficult questions, and explain your vision for our state.”
Schroeder calls on his opponents to commit to multiple debates in communities across Wisconsin before the general election.
“I’m stepping forward because leadership means showing up, listening to the people, and engaging in an honest exchange of ideas. Wisconsin voters deserve more than campaign commercials and carefully scripted appearances. They deserve real debates”
Schroeder says the debates should focus on increasing responsibilities of the office including election integrity and stresses government transparency, to better serve the people of Wisconsin,
“Election Honest Integrity is essential to public confidence in our democratic process,”
Schroeder said.
Voters deserve to hear where every candidate stands on promoting transparent, secure, and trustworthy elections.
If my opponents believe they have the better vision for Wisconsin, they should welcome the opportunity to present it directly to the people.”
“If they decline or are silent, voters can make their own judgments about who is willing to engage openly and lead.”
Wisconsin deserves leadership that is visible, accessible and accountable. With commitment to strengthening confidence in elections, ”I look forward to debating these issues”.
