MADISON, WI – This week, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) presented the 2025-2026 Champion of Commerce Award to selected recipients; this award is presented to legislators who showed strong, consistent support for policies introduced this session to support the regional economy. This session, MMAC prioritized bills which promoted growth, talent, and livability; after evaluating her voting record this session, MMAC named Representative Jill Billings (D-La Crosse) as one of their award recipients. Following the presentation, Rep. Billings issued the following statement:

“Thank you very much to the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce for selecting me as a recipient for a 2025-2026 Champion of Commerce Award. I am honored to accept this award from our largest anchor city in Wisconsin.

“My voting record this session reflects my commitment to supporting Wisconsin’s economy and workforce, because I understand the importance of ensuring that Wisconsinites and their families can live and thrive in stable communities. As the cost of living continues to rise as a result of poor federal policies, I am proud to be a state representative who works to improve economic stability and job security right here in the great state of Wisconsin.

“Thank you, again, to the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce for selecting me to receive this award. I will continue to support policies that make life better for Wisconsinites, including legislation designed to advance our regional economies.”
