BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wisc. – Stephanie Stuve-Bodeen, an author and educator who grew up on a dairy farm in Humbird, is the Democratic nominee for the 70th Assembly District.

“People are hurting. Between obstruction and gerrymandering, little has been done to actually help the people of Wisconsin.”

Among other issues, Stuve-Bodeen supports the full funding of public schools, the expansion of Medicaid, and a higher minimum wage. Once elected, she will fight for legislation that addresses affordability.

“Public dollars belong in public schools, yet school districts need referendums to meet basic costs. People should not have to decide between medicine and food. Family farms are struggling due to tariffs and the rising cost of fuel. The trend of doing nothing in the statehouse is not the way to make things better for people.”

Stuve-Bodeen has lived in Black River Falls since 2018. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Alma Center, has a BS in Secondary Education from UW-River Falls and a Master of Fine Arts from Spalding University. She has been married to Tim Bodeen for 37 years and the couple has two daughters.

“We have lived many different places but moved back because Wisconsin is home. And we deserve a government that works for all of us.”
