Hong’s campaign portrays her as a champion of working families. But the policy proposals she championed as a legislator reveal her willingness to punish hard work and entrepreneurship to feed an ever-growing government apparatus.

In February, Hong co-authored Assembly Bill 1028, which would have allowed Wisconsin counties and municipalities to impose an additional income tax on earnings above $1 million. The Republican-controlled Legislature rejected the bill without a hearing, but it reveals Hong’s governing philosophy.
