Madison, WI — State Representative David Steffen (R-Howard) issued the following statement in response to Realta Fusion’s announcement to develop its corporate headquarters and fusion research facility in Wisconsin:
“Today’s announcement places Wisconsin at the forefront of fusion energy. Our state’s combination of robust research, development and manufacturing sectors set us apart, and make us uniquely positioned to lead on the future of fusion. I am proud of the work our state has done to advance fusion development and commend the collaborative efforts that made this project a reality.
“Serving as Realta’s headquarters brings us closer to unlocking this revolutionary, sustainable energy source while creating hundreds of good-paying jobs along the way. Today’s announcement is a win for the future of energy and the future of Wisconsin. I look forward to continuing to build on the legislative accomplishments achieved this session to keep fusion moving forward,” said Rep. Steffen.
Realta Fusion is a world leader in fusion development and will be redeveloping the former Oscar Mayer plant into its research and development facility dubbed “The Realta Forge.” Realta expects to break ground yet this year.
