MADISON, WI. — Juliana Bennett, candidate for State Assembly to succeed Francesca Hong, released her July Continuing report, solidifying her place as the people-powered candidate: $49K total raised from 1,253 donors with an average contribution of just $39 — the lowest of any candidate in the race.
“From the moment I decided to run to represent Madison’s Northside, Eastside, and Isthmus in the State Assembly, I was clear about the kind of campaign this would be: one powered by people, not establishment donors.
While some politicians spend their time in rooms with the ultra-wealthy, making promises behind closed doors, our campaign has been out in the community, knocking on doors, organizing listening sessions, and meeting with neighbors who are too often ignored by our political system.
The fact that we’ve built one of the strongest fundraising operations in this race without relying on establishment donor networks proves that people are hungry for a different kind of politics. They want leaders who will fight to lower costs, expand opportunity, and make the rich finally pay their fair share.
Every dollar we’ve raised represents someone who believes Madison deserves a representative who answers to working people, not wealthy insiders. I’m incredibly grateful for that support, and we’re going to keep organizing every corner of this district until Election Day and beyond.”
