MADISON, WI – Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway today announced her campaign for a third term as Mayor of Madison, pledging to build on her work helping Madison residents at a pivotal moment for Madison and the state.

“Together, we have delivered real results for the people of Madison – more affordable homes, a modern transit system, and a stronger safety net for our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Mayor Rhodes-Conway. “But the work is not yet done, and we must continue to address the challenges that Madison residents face, including the growing cost of living. The November election gives us a real opportunity to finally have partners in state government who will work with us instead of against us.”

Since first taking office in 2019, Mayor Rhodes-Conway, Madison’s 58th Mayor, the city’s first openly LGBTQ mayor and only its second female mayor, has made major changes to improve the lives of Madisonians. Her administration has made real impacts including tripling the city’s Affordable Housing Fund, launching the city’s first Bus Rapid Transit line, investing more than $350 million in road maintenance and infrastructure, creating the CARES mobile crisis response team, installing nearly three megawatts of solar generation at City facilities, and overseeing construction of Madison’s first purpose-built homeless shelter.

These achievements are despite a Republican-controlled state legislature that has punished Madison by withholding funding, and a Trump administration that continues to attack programs that Madison’s vulnerable residents depend on.

If elected to another term, Mayor Rhodes-Conway will work every day to keep Madison a place where everyone can thrive by fighting for the needs of working families. Her priorities include property tax relief and diversifying municipal funding sources; continued progress on housing, especially social housing and affordable homeownership; public safety, especially traffic safety; supporting small and local businesses; and reducing climate pollution while building community resilience.

Because of Mayor Rhodes-Conway’s strong leadership and ability to find solutions to help Madison residents, the campaign has earned endorsements including Senator Tammy Baldwin, Congressman Mark Pocan, Governor Tony Evers, State Senator Kelda Roys, State Representative Francesca Hong, State Senate Minority Leader Dianne Hesselbein, County Executive Melissa Agard and Common Council President Sabrina Madison.

“Mayor Satya gets things done for Madison,” said Congressman Pocan. “She’s expanded public transit, taken bold action on climate change, and tackled the housing crisis head on, all while standing up to the attacks coming from the Trump Administration. Madison has made so much progress under her leadership, and I know she can keep us moving forward. I am proud to support her for another term.”
