Madison – The Special Committee on State-Tribal Relations’ membership was finalized on Tuesday. The committee studies issues related to American Indian tribes and bands in Wisconsin and develops policy recommendations and legislative proposals. Findings and recommendations shall be reported to the joint legislative council.
“I’m looking forward to working with Wisconsin’s tribes through this council to develop a legislative solution to the many problems that fly quietly under the radar. The issues faced on tribal land are rarely isolated to just that land, but fail to receive proper attention. When we work to solve tribal problems, we are better off as a state because of that,” said Representative Tucker.
