MADISON – Today, Sen. Kelda Roys (D-Madison) announced she now has the most legislative endorsements in the race with the additions of Sen. Bob Wirch (D-Kenosha), Sen. Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit), and Rep. Ryan Spaude (D-Green Bay) to a list that includes Karen Kirsch (D-Greenfield), Sarah Keyeski (D-Lodi), and Brienne Brown (D-Whitewater).

As the Democratic primary for governor continues to dwindle, legislative Democrats are throwing their support behind Roys. Kelda already had the most endorsements in the race, and just in the last few hours, we’ve picked up even more endorsements:

  • Senator Mark Spreitzer
  • Senator Bob Wirch
  • Senator Dave Hansen, former State Senator and Assistant Majority Leader
  • Representative Ryan Spaude
  • Regina Vidaver, Madison Common Council Alder
  • Chad Lewis, Menasha School Board Member
  • Don Merkes, former Mayor of Menasha

Sen. Spreitzer, Caucus Chair of the Senate Democratic caucus, issued the following statement:

“Kelda is the bold progressive leader we need to unite our party and defeat Tom Tiffany. She knows how to win and how to use power to help people. It’s time to unite behind Kelda.”

Rep. Spaude issued the following statement:

“Kelda is the leader that Wisconsin deserves. She’s tougher than nails, with a bold progressive vision for our state. I know she can unite our party and defeat Tom Tiffany in November.”
