MADISON – Wisconsin Conservation Voters announced its second slate of candidate endorsements today for the 2026 election cycle.
These endorsements build on an historic election season made possible by fair maps, which offer a real path to a pro-democracy, pro-conservation legislative majority come November.

“The momentum across Wisconsin is clear, voters are ready for leaders who will hold corporate polluters accountable, fight corporate greed, and protect our natural resources,” said Seth Hoffmeister, deputy director of Wisconsin Conservation Voters. “With fair maps finally in place, we have an unprecedented opportunity to elect lawmakers who will fight for clean drinking water, reliable, affordable energy solutions, and an accessible democracy for every community.”

The endorsed candidates in this slate represent key legislative districts across the state:
- Mark Becker, Senate District 1
- Kevin Knoke, Assembly District 30
- Becky Nichols, Assembly District 53
- John Kroll, Assembly District 85
- Rep. Shelia Stubbs, Assembly District 78
- Rep. Tara Johnson, Assembly District 96
This announcement follows Wisconsin Conservation Voters’ initial slate released in June. The organization will continue its vetting process and announce additional candidate endorsements in August following the partisan primary elections.
“Wisconsinites are looking for practical solutions to real challenges, like rising utility rates and protecting drinking water,” Hoffmeister said. “These candidates have shown they will put their communities first and advocate for policies that make our state cleaner, safer, and more affordable.”
