NEW FRANKEN, WI — Retiring State Senator André Jacque (R-New Franken) announced today that he is endorsing Nic Cravillion in his campaign to succeed him in representing the Wisconsin First Senate District.

“I will be voting for Nic Cravillion as our next State Senator, because I have seen firsthand that he has the best training for the battles that lie ahead,” said Sen. Jacque.

“Nic has been my trusted District Director for more than 5 years, helping citizens and local governments battle the state bureaucracy, getting to know their concerns, and communicating and assisting my actions across the entire array of the policy spectrum and throughout the district.  Nic chose to work for me instead of other legislators because he wanted to join me in fighting for conservative values and the people of the 1st District against outside interests, even knowing the negativity from others he would endure as a result.  I have also witnessed directly the deep passion he has for his family, and how he truly loves engaging in and passing on Wisconsin’s sporting heritage and God-given freedoms, and serving as a drill sergeant and helping his fellow veterans.  He’s been an entrepreneur and a dairy farmer, and a trusted advisor who has worked hard his entire life.  He is a true social and fiscal conservative who shares our values and has seen how they are under assault at the Capitol.  He has worked tirelessly for our cause.  We will be well served by his outstanding leadership in what is an extremely important role,” said Sen. Jacque.

A seventh-generation Wisconsinite, 15-year Army combat veteran, small business owner, and Senator Jacque’s District Director for more than five years, Cravillion reflected on the significance of the endorsement and the opportunity to serve alongside the retiring senator.

“Senator Jacque’s decision to step away from public office is a tremendous loss for Northeast Wisconsin. For nearly two decades, he has given his whole heart to serving the people of the First Senate District. He has been one of the strongest conservative voices in Northeast Wisconsin and a tireless champion for the people he represents. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to work alongside him for more than five years.”

Cravillion said Senator Jacque’s endorsement is one of the greatest honors of his campaign and a responsibility he does not take lightly.

“I’m honored by the confidence Senator Jacque has placed in me to continue the work we’ve done together, and I’m deeply grateful for his trust and support. I’ll work every day to earn the trust of the people of the First Senate District by fighting for the conservative values and strong communities that have made Northeast Wisconsin the place we’re proud to call home.”

Today’s endorsement follows a growing number of community leaders and statewide organizations which have come out in support of Nic Cravillion’s campaign for State Senate, including Pro-Life Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Dairy Business Association,  and the Wisconsin REALTORS Association, along with former State Senator Alan Lasee and State Representative Garey Bies.
