MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Senator Dora Drake, Chair of the Wisconsin Legislative Black Caucus and Vice Caucus Chair for Senate Democrats, today announced her endorsement of David Crowley for Governor of Wisconsin, citing his proven record of delivering results, his readiness to lead on day one, and his ability to build the coalition needed to defeat Republican Tom Tiffany in November.

“As an undecided voter, I have decided to endorse and vote for David Crowley to be the next Governor of Wisconsin. After last week’s debate, it became clear to me that he is the only candidate ready to beat Tom Tiffany and govern on day one,” said Sen. Drake. “David is the only Democrat in the race delivering on what Wisconsin and all Democrats want done: creating jobs, lowering taxes, expanding affordable housing, funding public safety, lowering drug overdose deaths, and expanding mental health care. More importantly, David Crowley has six years of receipts to back it up and is the only candidate aware of the nuances facing Black and Brown families and their children. I am proud to vote for him on August 11th.”

Crowley thanked Sen. Drake for her support and highlighted their shared commitment to expanding opportunity for every Wisconsin family.

“I am honored to have Senator Dora Drake’s endorsement,” said Crowley. “Dora has been a tireless advocate for working families, expanding access to health care, strengthening public safety, and ensuring every community has the opportunity to succeed. As Chair of the Wisconsin Legislative Black Caucus, she has been a powerful voice for equity and justice, and I look forward to continuing our partnership to deliver results for people across Wisconsin.”

Sen. Drake’s endorsement adds to the growing momentum behind Crowley’s campaign, which has continued to earn support from leaders across Wisconsin who recognize his record of bringing people together, delivering bipartisan results, and fighting for working families.

David Crowley is the Milwaukee County Executive and the first African American and youngest person elected to that office. Raised in Milwaukee in a union household, David has balanced billion-dollar budgets, delivered the largest property tax cut in county history, cut opioid overdose deaths in half, and added over 1,000 units of affordable housing in six years, including in suburban communities for the first time. He has won every race for the Wisconsin State Legislature and Milwaukee County Executive.
