MADISON, Wis. (August 10, 2026) – In its second Community Grant cycle of the year, Alliant Energy and the Alliant Energy Foundation awarded $708,599 to various causes and nonprofits across Iowa and Wisconsin.

All Community Grant recipients seek to make an impact in Alliant Energy’s four focus areas: Community safety and engagement, environmental stewardship, workforce readiness and hunger and housing.

Community safety and engagement: Improvements for emergency services and over $130,000 in grants covered 40 communities in first responder organizations including police, fire and EMS departments. This support assisted with the purchase or upgrades of vital equipment. Grants will also support projects and events that foster community connections, including fairs, playground enhancements and other local festivals.

Hunger and housing: Organizations that provide household essentials, food assistance through food pantries, meal outreach and delivery programs were awarded over $210,000 in grants in 30 communities. Initiatives providing transition and permanent housing support were also included, helping meet critical needs and support long-term stability in communities.

Environmental stewardship: Conservation projects focused on protecting natural habitats, expanding tree and prairie plantings and supporting wildlife received nearly $90,000 in grant funding across 15 communities. Grants will also help advance environmental education initiatives, school programs and support park and trail enhancements that benefit local communities.

Workforce readiness: More than $255,000 in grants and scholarships were awarded in this cycle, to support programs that help prepare future generations for success through education, skill development and hands-on learning opportunities. Grants supported programs in 32 communities, including youth agriculture initiatives, school gardens, farm education and innovation, libraries and bookmobiles and STEM programming.
