WASHINGTON, DC – Delaware Lt. Governor Kyle Evans Gay, Chair of the Democratic Lt. Governors Association (DLGA), released the following statement tonight on Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski being nominated as Wisconsin’s Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor:
“Sarah Godlewski is a fifth-generation Wisconsinite from Eau Claire, the daughter of two public school teachers, and a product of a union home – and she has never forgotten who serves. As State Treasurer, Sarah managed a $1.6 billion public trust fund and helped send a record $65 million to Wisconsin’s public schools while steering more than $299 million into renewable energy and community development projects across the state.
“Wisconsin families are paying more for groceries, housing, health care, and child care while Donald Trump and Washington Republicans hand the bill to working people. Sarah has spent her career holding corporate interests accountable, defending the checks and balances that keep state government honest, and proving that public office can still deliver for Wisconsin’s working families. With Sarah, Wisconsin will have a Lt. Governor who leads with strength and purpose, and the DLGA is proud to support Sarah Godlewski as Wisconsin’s next Lt. Governor.”
