DGA Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper released the following statement in response to Congressman Tom Tiffany becoming the Republican nominee for governor in Wisconsin:
“Congressman Tom Tiffany is a failed Washington politician with an extreme MAGA agenda that puts Donald Trump first no matter how much it hurts Wisconsin. Congressman Tiffany has spent his time in Washington voting to drive up costs by rubber-stamping the reckless war in Iran that is causing gas prices to skyrocket, voting to jack up health care costs and gut Medicaid, and backing the tariffs that have hurt Wisconsin farmers and made everything more expensive.
“Congressman Tiffany also protected predators with his votes to block the release of the Epstein files, backed a nationwide abortion ban that would deny care even to women whose lives were in danger. He voted against certifying the 2020 election and as he runs for a position that would have direct oversight of Wisconsin’s 2028 presidential election, he continues to parrot dangerous lies and conspiracy theories that undermine free and fair elections. Wisconsinites can’t afford to let Congressman Tom Tiffany anywhere near the governor’s mansion.”
