BAYFIELD, WI – Tonight, former Wisconsin State Legislator Fred Clark secured the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District.

Upon winning tonight’s primary election, Clark issued the following statement:

“Talking with voters across northern Wisconsin since last fall has made crystal clear how much power the federal government has to make our lives better, and, when Congress drops the ball, how much power it has to make our lives so much worse.

“This Congress has been an abject failure for northern Wisconsin. Health care is more expensive and harder to get. This insane tariff policy is crushing our farmers, businesses and consumers. Fuel costs are up because of another truly crazy misadventure in the Middle East. And Congress shares the blame for all of it.

”We need to turn the page and take back Congress for the American people. This election is not about left or right – it’s about right and wrong.

“I’m willing to work with anybody, no matter what political party they belong to, to bring down costs and revitalize the northern Wisconsin economy, and I look forward to making that case to voters between now and November.”
