The 3rd CD Democrats of Wisconsin congratulates the Democrats advancing to the general election in November. We look forward to working together to secure Democratic victories up and down the ballot and to deliver a Blue Trifecta for Wisconsin.
In the 3rd CD, we had an energetic and spirited primary between Rebecca Cooke and Emily Berge. Many activists and supporters rallied behind the candidates they believed offered the best chance for victory in November. Rebecca Cooke was selected by our voters and look forward to working with her to defeat Derrick Van Orden, the worst Congresspeople in Washington. We also thank Emily Berge for her candidacy and for bringing such passion and enthusiasm to the primary. Emily ran an incredible campaign and we look forward to supporting her in future endeavors.
According to 3rd CD Democrats Chair William Garcia, “Here in the 3rd, we did what Republicans like Derrick Van Orden are so afraid to do. Our candidates talked to voters, held forums and town halls, knocked on doors and connected with people. This is in contrast to Derrick Van Orden, who seemingly spends all of his time attacking constituents in social media comments. This primary proved that our candidates understand the needs of our district and are ready to lead in DC.”
We also congratulate David Crowley for his victory Tuesday night. David is a wonderful human being and a thoughtful and compassionate leader. He has what it takes to defeat Tom Tiffany and finally begin to undo the damage of 16 years of GOP control of our legislature. Also, thank you to Francesca Hong, Kelda Roys, Joel Brennan, Sara Rodriguez, Missy Hughes and Mandela Barnes. Campaigns are difficult, time-consuming and emotionally taxing, and we appreciate these candidates’ willingness to put themselves on the ballot to try to create a better Wisconsin.

William Garcia, :”Unlike Republicans, who decided who to nominate months ago and essentially cleared the field for Tom Tiffany before voters could have a say, Democrats held a long and sometimes chaotic primary to give voters the choice in who to run as the Democratic candidate for Governor. Our party is better for it, and our David Crowley is better for it.”
The 3rd CD Democrats of Wisconsin look forward to working with these candidates to win in November! Forward!
