MADISON, WI — Period Products Pantry is proud to announce that it has officially been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. This marks a significant milestone in its mission to provide menstrual period products to food pantries, community centers, schools and shelters so that everyone always has the period products they need. The Pantry began its work in early 2025 and has already distributed over 7,640 tampons and 13,320 pads in over 1,000 packets made for local pantries.

Period Products Pantry believes access to period products is a basic necessity, not a luxury, and strives to remove barriers which prevent people from participating fully in school, work, and everyday life.

The new federal tax-exempt status opens the door to expanded grant opportunities, increased eligibility for community awards and service recognition programs, and allows donors to make tax- deductible contributions that directly support the organizations work.

“This designation is an exciting step forward for our organization” said Carol Aspinwall, Executive Director of Period Products Pantry. “It strengthens our ability to serve our community, build partnerships, and secure the resources needed to ensure that no one has to choose between purchasing period products and meeting other basic needs.”

Community members, businesses, civic organizations, and volunteers are encouraged to support the organization’s mission through financial contributions, product drives, volunteer service, and advocacy.
