MADISON, Wis. — The Dairy Business Association™, Wisconsin’s leading dairy advocacy group, today announced its endorsement of Congressman Tom Tiffany for governor. The announcement was made during a special event hosted at a DBA member’s farm, Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy in Kewaunee, Wis.
Tiffany is the current U.S. representative for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District as well as a former Wisconsin state senator and state representative.
“Tom recognizes that Wisconsin’s dairy community is a cornerstone of the state’s economy and has supported policies that strengthen family farms, dairy processors and rural communities,” said DBA board member and dairy farmer Amy Penterman. “As governor, we believe he will significantly influence the future of Wisconsin agriculture, helping to shape its development and continue advancing it.”
DBA’s current policy priorities to protect the integrity of Wisconsin dairy, the assurance of regulatory fairness, enhancing rural communities and protecting economic development and security align with Tiffany’s priorities.

“We pride ourselves on our record of bipartisanship and thorough research of candidates, including personal visits, so when we make an endorsement, you can be sure that we mean it,” Penterman said. “The Wisconsin governor has tremendous influence over the future of our industry — through appointments to state agencies, the biennial budget, regulatory oversight, and the approval or veto of legislation that affects dairy farmers every single day. Our announcement today is a mark of confidence that Tom Tiffany will be a strong supporter and advocate for the Wisconsin dairy industry.”
Jamie Witcpalek and her family hosted the event to show their appreciation for the previous support Tiffany has shown to dairy as well as to encourage other dairy farmers to join in supporting the candidate.
“Running a farm like Pagel’s Ponderosa means dealing with regulations, workforce shortages, transportation costs, and unpredictable weather — all at once. We don’t need to add unnecessary costs and barriers that could be driven by someone unfamiliar with Wisconsin dairy farms,” said Jamie Witcpalek, of Pagel Ponderosa. “We need a governor who actually understands what our day-to-day reality looks like.”
Tiffany will be on the ballot in Wisconsin’s general election on Nov. 3.
“We are proud to stand behind Tom Tiffany and encourage Wisconsin’s dairy farmers, agricultural community and rural voters to support a candidate who will make the future of Wisconsin agriculture a priority as governor,” Penterman said.
