MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Today, County Executive David Crowley, Democratic nominee for governor, visited the Bread of Healing Clinic to discuss his plan to expand healthcare for working families. Crowley highlighted the importance of investing in clinics that are serving vulnerable communities to keep kids and families healthy and safe.

“In Milwaukee, we take care of one another and that’s the mission of Bread of Healing Clinic—making sure the community’s most vulnerable have access to care. We need to expand healthcare access and bring down costs by fully funding local clinics and hospitals, and investing in healthy kids and families,” said Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Crowley. “As governor, I’ll prioritize making healthcare more affordable for families, children, and seniors across the Badger State. While MAGA extremist Tom Tiffany votes to defund healthcare and services for thousands of Wisconsinites, I’ll always protect it.”

During his time in public service, County Executive Crowley has been a champion for community health and access to health care, advancing the “No Wrong Door” model of care, investing in health services, and directing opioid settlement dollars toward community needs. He has also supported building new centers that make it easier for Milwaukee County residents to access care and services, including the Marcia P. Coggs Health and Human Services Center and Mental Health Emergency Center.

As governor, County Executive Crowley’s healthcare plan includes expanding BadgerCare so more Wisconsin families can access affordable coverage, implementing a No Wrong Door model of care statewide, and investing in healthy kids, families, and communities by keeping care local and properly funded.
