MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The son of a master electrician, and now a husband and a father of three daughters, David Crowley knows firsthand the struggles union labor and working families across Wisconsin are facing. That’s why he has been traveling to every corner of Wisconsin, hearing from voters about how MAGA Congressman Tom Tiffany’s affordability crisis is crushing them and the need for workers’ rights is more important than ever.

“As a husband and father raising three daughters, and as someone who grew up working class, I understand what working families are going through. As governor, I will always fight for families like mine and ensure that working people can collectively bargain and get the fair wages and benefits they deserve,” Crowley said. “Congressman Tom Tiffany is a corrupt DC politician who took millions from corporate PACs and wealthy special interests. As governor, I will expand opportunities by increasing apprenticeship and trade school opportunities in both emerging technologies and in-demand trades like plumbers, electricians, and carpenters. This will give Wisconsinites more opportunities at getting a good-paying job that doesn’t require a four year degree.”

Crowley was raised in a union household. As County Executive, David Crowley created tens of thousands of union-backed jobs, expanded access to apprenticeship opportunities for young people, and supported fair wages and benefits for working people across the community.

David has a long record of supporting labor and creating good-paying, family-supporting jobs. In 2023, Crowley helped negotiate the bipartisan deal keeping the Milwaukee Brewers in Wisconsin, which also secured union jobs to carry out work at American Family Field. This resulted in new jobs for Wisconsin labor union members, drawing workers from across the state to work on maintenance and improvements at the ballpark.

Local leaders, from president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Jerry Biggart, to Mike Irvin and Terry McGowan of Operating Engineers Local 139, have praised Crowley as Milwaukee County Executive for creating union jobs, fighting for fair wages, and delivering funding for apprenticeship programs.

David’s work started well before he took over the largest county in Wisconsin. In the state legislature, David spent everyday fighting to raise wages and benefits, expanding family and medical leave laws, and repealing Wisconsin’s prevailing wage law. And while David was fighting against the same child labor laws, then-state legislator Tom Tiffany was doing everything possible to put minors to work in unsafe conditions.

MAGA extremist Tom Tiffany has spent his nearly 20 year political career taking money away from working people to pay for tax breaks for billionaires and large corporations. This includes gutting collective bargaining, voting against wage increases, denying paycheck fairness, and voting to stop local labor and work protections.
