MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – the state chamber of commerce – is again partnering with local chambers from across the state to celebrate September as Chamber of Commerce Month in Wisconsin.

Throughout the month, WMC and its affiliate organization, Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives (WCCE), will spotlight the vital contributions chambers make to Wisconsin’s economy by supporting businesses, developing local leaders, promoting tourism, fostering community engagement, and advancing pro-growth public policy.

“Wisconsin’s chambers play an indispensable role in strengthening our state’s economy,” said WMC President & CEO Kurt R. Bauer. “From helping entrepreneurs launch and grow businesses to advocating for policies that support economic opportunity and growth, chambers are essential partners in Wisconsin’s continued success.”

At the request of WCCE, Gov. Tony Evers proclaimed September as Chamber of Commerce Month in Wisconsin, recognizing the important role chambers play in making Wisconsin a great place to live, work, raise a family, and do business.

WCCE works to promote a competitive business environment by equipping chamber professionals with the resources, education, and advocacy tools needed to support businesses and champion sound economic policies at the local, state, and federal levels.

“Chambers are much more than networking organizations,” said WCCE Board Chair and President & CEO of Envision Greater Fond du Lac Sadie Howell. “We are part of the economic infrastructure of our communities. At chambers around the state, our work is about bringing people together, advocating for business, developing our workforce, supporting entrepreneurs, and helping create the conditions for businesses and communities to thrive. Strong chambers help build strong communities, and that matters to everyone who lives and works here.”

Throughout the month, chambers across the state will mark the occasion through community events, business celebrations, member engagement activities, social media campaigns and other initiatives highlighting their contributions to local economic development.
