The American Federation of Teachers-Wisconsin, the Service Employees International Union Wisconsin, the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1473, and the Wisconsin Education Association Council today announce their enthusiastic endorsement of Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley for Governor of Wisconsin.  Each of these four unions is a statewide organization, and between them represent tens of thousands of workers in Wisconsin.

Leaders of these four unions invite all media to participate in a virtual press conference that will include County Executive Crowley on Wednesday, September 2 from 1-2 pmMedia participants should register here in advance.

“Elections are about choices,” said Jon Shelton, President of AFT-Wisconsin. “As we celebrate Labor Day weekend and remember all the contributions of workers that have made our state great, electing the candidate who will fight with us for our values has never been more important.”

“There is only one choice in this November election for Governor,” said Louis Davis, Executive Director of SEIU Wisconsin. “We know Tom Tiffany opposes workers’ rights, and we know we can count on David Crowley to work with a Democratic legislature to restore full bargaining rights for all public employees.”

“We need to end ‘right to work’ once and for all and make sure workers have a say in how new technologies in our workplaces are being implemented,” said Jake Bailey, President of UFCW 1473.  “David Crowley is the candidate to do that.”

Peggy Wirtz-Olsen, Teacher and WEAC President said, “WEAC has met with David Crowley and has engaged in extensive conversations on issues affecting public education, public school educators and students. Through those discussions, we are convinced David Crowley will be the best choice for Governor in the November elections.”
