MILWAUKEE, WI, September 8, 2026…The Wisconsin Sporting Alliance today announced that State Representative Bob Donovan (R-Greenfield) has been selected to receive the organization’s Conservation Partner Award in recognition of his support for policies that benefit Wisconsin’s hunters, anglers, outdoor recreationists and the state’s natural resources.
The Conservation Partner Award recognizes public officials who have demonstrated a willingness to work with Wisconsin’s sporting community and support legislation affecting conservation, outdoor recreation and the state’s long-standing hunting and fishing traditions.
“Representative Donovan has been a valued partner on issues important to Wisconsin sportsmen and women,” said Craig Peterson, of the Wisconsin Sporting Alliance. “We appreciate his willingness to engage with our concerns and his support for legislation that helps preserve Wisconsin’s outdoor heritage for future generations.”
Wisconsin’s $11 billion outdoor recreation economy supports thousands of jobs and contributes significantly to the state’s quality of life. Hunting, fishing, trapping and other outdoor traditions have long been part of Wisconsin’s identity, while responsible stewardship helps ensure that future generations can enjoy healthy wildlife populations, clean waters and abundant public lands.

The Wisconsin Sporting Alliance advocates for sound conservation policies, protection of Wisconsin’s fish and wildlife resources, expanded outdoor recreational opportunities, and the rights of responsible hunters, anglers and conservationists. The organization works with policymakers of both political parties to advance practical, science-based solutions that strengthen Wisconsin’s outdoor heritage.
Representative Donovan will receive the award during a presentation later this year.
