MADISON, Wis. — WisDems Chair Devin Remiker released the following statement on Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin’s new lawsuit challenging abortion restrictions and seeking to expand reproductive freedom:
“Every woman in Wisconsin deserves the freedom to get the healthcare she needs, when she needs it, without the government standing between her and her doctor. It’s long past time to guarantee reproductive freedom in Wisconsin, and this lawsuit is an important step in that direction. MAGA extremists like Tom Tiffany and Republicans in the state legislature have spent years fighting reproductive freedom and pushing restrictions to strip care away from Wisconsinites — and they have made clear they aren’t finished. Neither are we. Wisconsin Democrats stand with Planned Parenthood in this fight, and we will keep fighting in the courts, in the legislature, and at the ballot box in November until every Wisconsinite has the freedom to make their own healthcare decisions.”
