Dem gubernatorial candidate David Crowley has released a new TV ad in which the Milwaukee County executive says he understands the financial struggles people are experiencing because “we’re going through it, too.”

It’s Crowley’s second ad since the primary, and he’s up to nearly $2.8 million in reservations between Aug. 11 and the Nov. 3 election, according to AdImpact. Over that period, Crowley and his allies have laid down $16.3 million in reservations overall, compared to the $20.2 million reserved by GOP nominee Tom Tiffany and his backers.

Crowley opens the ad talking about the mortgage, utility bills and the “stress of raising three beautiful daughters.” One of his kids calls out, asking what’s for dinner.

“I know what you’re going through, because we’re going through it, too,” Crowley says.

Crowley says he has a plan that helps by lowering costs for healthcare, gas and utilities while fully funding public schools, cutting property taxes, and making it easier to buy a home or pay rent.

He closes the spot, “Wisconsin, let’s get to work,” while one daughter asks, “Does that mean we have to help with the dishes?”
